As much as I love my work, I also have to be sure that the costs of keeping up my website are covered in some way. In the world of websites, things operate much like on television or on the radio, where ad revenue helps support the cost of production. In the case of websites, it is much less - believe me! But, I do recommend products and services that I use and believe in, and some of the companies providing these products and services provide me compensation for sales made after clicking on a link here. Recently, the US government has passed some legislation requiring the disclosure of any financial interest in products being recommended on websites. As is often the case, this law is vague, and no one seems to agree fully if it applies to a site such as mine or not. Furthermore, no language was provided in the legislation as to how the disclosure should be worded! So, while they are debating the issue, I have decided to take the cautious road - here is my take:
